Secure Shell (ssh)

Secure Shell is the defacto tool for connecting between devices security in IOT to run commands

Generating a key

After installing ssh, we recommend generating an ECDSA (elliptic crypto key)

ssh-keygen -t ECDSA

This will ask for a password to encrypt the private key. It is very very important that you save this password somewhere safe but easy to retrieve. If you lose it, you will have to generate a new key pair

This will put the public and private key in your .ssh folder

• id_ed25519 # your private key, password protected
• id_ed25519.pub # your public key
