Multicast DNS

Setting it up on your pi (or other linux system)

Setup Multicast DNS discovery of ssh in a Terminal with the Avahi package (usually preinstalled)

We tell the avahi daemon to publish ssh sudo cp /usr/share/doc/avahi-daemon/examples/ssh.service /etc/avahi/services/ We restart the daemon to see the file: sudo systemctl restart avahi-daemon See if you can find your IP and MAC address with avahi-browse -a. You may have to install the program first with sudo apt install avahi-utils. If the browser doesn't show other devices, multicast is probably broken.
